I have a race track suspension from Roush so I don't have to worry about that, but what I really want is a Super Charger

Just remember, you can always do both lol but I would rather stick to a SC.

I like having the power the second I give it gas vs waiting to spool up the boost and then have the go.

When I do get a SC, I plan on getting a Roush SC for my car. Keep the Roush name all over the car (if you know what i mean).

Two of my buddies and myself will be installing the kit.

Simple (hopefully) install but will take half the day to do it.

That's awesome but if you do put a intake and exhaust, you're going to free up air giving you more horsepower but what you need to do his get a tune so that you can dump the right amount of fuel to compensate for the increase in air flow.

Which may put a damper on how much gas mileage you get per gallon.

This. Generally with the cars who have V8 options, their V6 brethren have an ample amount of space for a TT setup and all the piping and supporting hardware. Not only that, but you shouldn't lose out on too much fuel economy. I don't know how those Dodge V6's do on stock internals with boost though, that might be an issue. Also a kit like that (a decent quality one) would be pretty damn expensive, so unless you're going big, it doesn't seem like too much of a bargain. There's a dude around here with a '12 V6 Mustang who can embarrass all the stock Coyotes and even hangs with some of the conservatively modded ones. And he gets better mileage to boot. Not my thing, but still pretty damn impressive.

But yeah, headers and everything downstream of that, tune, intake, maybe they have other mods like a better intake manifold, TB, cams, etc.... It's not always about going faster when applying power either, you can get some stickier tires (I'd recommend wheels too in that case), coilovers or a good shock/strut/spring combo, a true LSD if yours doesn't come with one, etc.... Then you are also making the car faster without power adders.... Having been a BMW guy forever, this was generally the train of thought. Pretty amazing how you can transform a car's feel without adding power.

What it makes to the wheels...i'm not sure but I do know that it's calibrated to 575 hp.

I also put fluid in the new and old antifreeze reservoir yesterday. You don't see it in the pic because I didn't have any at the time.

I should be getting the PCM either later today or tomorrow.

Hopefully today cause I want to drive the damn thing.

I'm praying I don't throw a check engine light. I would be devastated if I did. I spent all weekend with my buddy Steve going step by step by the instructions they gave with the kit.

I also got a boost gauge and cluster from Roush which will mount on the driver side air vent. The one by the door.

For a 4 banger that's a lot of power but you also have to add in weight which has a huge impact on your time in the quarter mile and that's if you even care lol.

Its amazing how many hp's you can gain from a simple tune.

I dont know if anybody here has the time or likes to do custom paint on their ride but I found a product that you can spray on like paint and it just peels off when you get tired of it. The stuff is called plastidip or rubberdip. Yup but because I live in the great state of California I cant get it in the gallon form, but they are trying to make a CA kit. I was going to start small and do striping to get the hang of it first before I would attempt to do a whole car/truck dip.

In either the Bay area or in Southern California, Im sure I can go to Lake Tahoe and buy it on the Nevada side and just bring it back over. I would rather do it myself and save about 5-7 hundred bucks for not having to pay somebody to do what I can do myself.

You can have your car run low 12's with simple add on's.

Intake, Headers, Exhaust, H-Pipe, Bigger Throttle Body, Tune and Drag Radials....you'll see your car push amazing numbers at the track.

Low and I mean real low 12's.

CA was the first state to outlaw lead based automotive paint, they made them go to water based. The only way to get around smog laws is to register in a county that doesnt require it. CA has to be different than anybody else and has to be the most expensive place to live and gas prices suck balls.

So I can drive it but I can't give it full throttle.

It threw a code...Intake Air Temperture Sensor is malfunctioning.

Also it's boost spiking.

I have no idea why its boost spiking.

We have all the vacuum lines set up properly, so I have no Idea why it shoots past 10 pounds.

Is your MAF clocked correctly? That's crazy, spiking is bad juju.

Do you have a shop in your area who can check it out for you? Probably wouldn't be super cheap but on big projects like that where I've done a lot of the grunt work, usually I don't mind dropping a few bucks to take it to a place who can either iron out the wrinkles or just look it over and confirm everything's done to a proper spec.

Oh and forums too. S197.net, SVTP, corral, etc.... Someone may have run into this already and could help.

Got the car running the way its supposed to and let me say...damn this mofo is fast as shit.

Got everything in working order and I am very pleased with the results.

I do have to say this, that once I got the intake air temperature sensor fixed. It made a huge difference.

I was averaging 10 miles a gallon before it got fixed.

I have so much stuff going on that I cant deal with it right now between dealing with my college, the county, and SS. Besides that its been too long to raise too much hell with the owner. I made a complaint before about the tractor operator for the same incident without knowing about my rims because he dumped all my material on my left side then just walked away making me level it out.

Balancing can always cure the problem but depends on how badly bent they are.

I used to be a tire tech and i came across many wheels that have seen its days and have been balanced to were no vibrations occur.

Try that out first before you spend a bunch of money on new wheels.

Though I won't lie, having my wheels bent from someone is something that wouldn't go over to well and I def would like to have them replaced

It is very hard sometimes judging how close I am to the front of another car when I'm parallel parking.

I plan on doing some intake stuff first, Ram Air Intake etc., and then when the warranty runs out a complete rebuild with a turbo upgrade.

I have a buddy who recently totaled his M6.

He fell asleep at the wheel from working to many hours.

Rolled it 3 to 4 times and slammed it against a tree.

That's cause you have a four banger lol.

Even V6 motors are tough when it comes to finding a good exhaust.

Try Borla or Magna Flow.

Their sites may have your car available to hear the exhausts they may have available for your car.

Your best bet would probably be a turbo-back setup where you'd be able to keep the diameter up. But definitely don't delete the cats (at the very least use HFCs) and maybe even add a resonator upstream of the muffler to existing turbo-back kits to keep the sound down and shape it a little better.

but if you're looking for performance, the last thing you want to do is add a resonator.

You lose performance by depleting air flow.

When I had a turbo civic, I had a Greddy exhaust.

My car sounded great and didn't have the raspy sound.

I did, however, had the raspy sound when I got a generic exhuast from a local exhuast shop.

Yeah I know turbo'd engines benefit from every bit of reduced backpressure possible, but if you don't like the way your car sounds, it's easy to give up what would literally be a couple to a few HP for a more pleasant sound. If you get the right size resonator to not bottleneck the flow, I'd be surprised if we were talking more than a couple HP difference anywhere in the range.

On my 335, removing the resonators only allowed for a couple more HP to be dialed in, so I put them back on because the drone was awful with them off. Generally if your resonators don't force awkward crush bent sections (or any extra bends at all) up- or downstream and they don't decrease the ID, the gains to be had from removing them are (in most cases) semantics. And resonators are usually the #2 line of defense against drone (after mufflers).

It's all about striking the perfect balance between performance and sound. If he said he didn't give a damn about the sound, I'm sure the recommendation would be a full turbo-back setup with no cats, no resonators, and no muffler, with the highest diameter possible and mandrel bends only, to go along with some high quality EL exhaust manifolds. However, you still may be up against a bit because the engine defines the sound available to be shaped by the exhaust, so you're limited to exactly how much you can "sculpt" sound with the exhaust itself.

My suggestion is simply for him to take the best sounding turbo-back setup he can find (generally higher diameter pipe will do better with the sound), and fine tune it for that last bit of sound suppression / freq cancellation if need be.

There was a time when I was all about max flow and peak numbers, but since then I've resorted a lot more to sacrificing a little of that power to also get a good sound. It's part of getting old, I'm sure. I also keep all my cats in my cars now due to the smell versus gain of removing them (a lot of power to be gained when people remove cats is due to the fact that the piping will go up in diameter and you can design out the sharper bends anyway; today's cats are pretty efficient as far as flow goes). So it's probably best to take what I say with a grain of salt and context.

OR you could just go to a reputable exhaust shop and have them build one to spec, then fine tune as necessary. There's a lot of options there.

And yeah traction is a bitch. I asked the tuner if he could give me a stock map with some throttle sensitivity dialed out for winter. He said no one had asked him to do that before but he'll give it a shot. We shall see I guess. I've already got a solid set of winter shoes, so those help, but there's just a lot of torque and power applied through a pretty small range of movement in the pedal. You go straight to spinning if you don't use the clutch to help you out a bunch, and then you end up with some nice burning clutch smells....

Heh yeah I carry kitty litter, a small snow shovel, a small garden shovel (to break compacted ice), and the normal winter scraper, etc....

You could just go ahead and get winter tires for your existing wheels but if you've got 20s then your options are limited.

One of the reasons why I only lowered the Mustang .5" was because with my 335 I realized my biggest winter enemy wasn't necessarily the RWD itself (winter tires make that manageable), but the ride height. The damn thing was low enough stock with the Sport Package, then I lowered it a bit more. If I got caught in areas where the accumulation was greater than my general ride height of the body of the car itself, I'd start to get in plateauing situations. All hell broke loose from there. You've got that Roush suspension so I think you're lowered what...? 1.5" over stock? I don't know if Bodymore gets many days of real serious accumulation, so that might not be a problem for you.

And I hear you on the tire prices.... The stock Pirellis that come with this Brembo package are f'n hilariously expensive compared to their competition (I think at last check it was ~350+ ea). I'm ditching them as soon as they hit the wear bars. Or I might get some RTR wheels over the winter. The extra .5" width on each wheel should allow me to go with some 285s all around. Or I might just keep the Brembo wheels and go with 275s. I don't know.

That construction stuff sucks. I don't know what the procedure is if something like that happens on base, but when I had a similar issue due to a f'd up construction effort out here in the civilian world in IL, they said I could file a claim to potentially recoup 50%. Do you have any similar recourse available to you?

Yeah if you want any semblance of safety in the snow, you do have to have dedicated tires in a car like this. All my RWD cars have always had a summer set and winter set (except when I lived in San Diego).

I'd be getting them from CDC (Classic Design Concepts), the "owners" of the RTR line if I get them new. I've got a buddy with a GT500 who is using his RTR's for winter storage of his car, and he'll be parting with them when he pulls it out of storage. The reason I would want his is because he went ahead and got them powdercoated gunmetal. I'm trying to stay away from too much matte stuff on the car, so he's saving me a step (they're only available in matte gunmetal and polished). Or I might go with the polished finish; CDC's DIB GT with the polished RTR wheels looked really good. In the end though, that's a cosmetic mod, so if there are other mods on the list which take precedence (chassis or powertrain difference-makers), then the wheels will just have to wait. I actually REALLY like the Brembo wheels. My only issue is that they're kind of narrow. But if I go tracking next year, I'll probably make sure to have a dedicated set of forged track wheels/tires, so wider street tires will probably never make much of a difference. So maybe I'll just keep the Brembos and see what they look like powdercoated gunmetal (they'll be off for the whole winter so there will be plenty of time). Another set of wheels I really really like are the stock non-LS BOSS wheels. Lots of people don't like them, but I love 'em. Is your friend going to sell you those RTR's for a reasonable price. If so, your lucky. Those rims are expensive.

I, too, like the BOSS wheels too. They look small but are not.

I wish my Roush brakes were Brembos but they are the 4 piston Roush brakes that you get if you have a set of stock GT brakes.

It's weird with Roush cause they get ex amount of GT's and mod them themselves.

If the GT's have special items, such as the Brembo brake package, they'll leave them on vs putting their Roush brake kit on.

I'm sure I could go to a set of 18's but i don't want to risk clearance, especially if i hit a pot hole or something.

I like the hood, rear valance, push start (no key to insert in an ignition) and the tail lights.

Def not a fan of the front end as the headlights remind me of the BMW Z4's headlights

The shape, proportions, and trim on that ass are very well thought out and translated very well from drawings to real life. The interior looks alright, but I'm not a huge interior hound. If everything works, doesn't feel like it's going to break every time I use it, and is laid out well, it's good enough for me.

Looks like they ditched the stock 4x4 look. Probably due to the new IRS. I can't wait to drive one. I wonder if they came through on their promise that this one would be at least 200lbs lighter than the outgoing one....

I like the front end. Huge inlet area is great for cooling and cooling mods which were already needed on Coyotes and Roadrunners if they're to be pushed hard.

The car's tech has gone a bit upmarket, but I hope the price doesn't. I really hope the MSRP doesn't go up for this next gen.

I live in CA currently but have SC tags so I don't have to smog. But funny thing is my new intake has a CARB exempt sticker anyway. :)
I don't know what kind of car you have, but all Neuspeed intakes come with carb stickers.

Yeah try to find a sticker, I've had to deal with that CARB BS in the past. As far as intakes pre-MAF go, they should have no say in that, but they do. A lot of companies refuse to pay the tax so they don't offer the stickers, and therefore can't sell to cars in The Republik of Kalifornia..

All I've heard is that it was delayed... from what was rumored, it sounded like the perfect muscle car. The power of the challenger, old school muscle car look mixed with modern features, and yes, way lighter!

Yeah it was a pony car idea while the Charger and Challenger are muscle cars. Camaros and Mustangs are not muscle cars, and the Cuda is aimed straight at them. I hope they'd still keep the Challenger though, muscle cars are great.

Just the wheels. I know they're not generally popular, as a lot of people are into the AMR/RTR look or the concave look, or the deep dish look, but I LOVE the OEM BOSS wheels. I just wish they were wider. Next winter when they're off the car I plan on getting them widened.

After figuring in how much I sold my Brembo package wheels for, these things only cost me $60 plus shipping, plus there is more life on these $350+ (each) tires than there were on mine, so I make money there too . Not bad IMO. That's another reason to like them :lol:

Trying to stay pretty low key with the mods. Seeing as how my exterior trim has been gloss black instead of matte (gloss looks better with Deep Impact Blue IMO), gloss black wheels made sense too. But I like how the lip is polished on these, as I don't really like many all-black wheels.

Maybe I'll go Vortech or something in the future but I don't know.... I don't really want to add too much weight to the nose of this thing as it's pretty well balanced right now. Plus, I'm not even at 400 RWHP right now and I can promise you, I cannot responsibly and safely handle all this power yet. Wheel hop is terrible for one. But I have a UCA going on and LCA reloc brackets, so that should help a little. The wider tires should help a little. The springs should help a little. But mostly, I need to get used to this much power before I can even think of a FI power adder.

I tell you what, I have 480 plus to the wheels and man does she go baby go.

I goal, once the warranty is up, is to push my car over 600hp and be in the 500hp to the wheels.

I don't want to go to crazy as I want to keep the internals stock.

Might have to upgrade the clutch so that my car can actually use the hp it produces.

Fortunately (unlike with the New Edge Cobras), this car was designed with IRS mounting points in mind, so it's not a half-assed implementation. It should be great but we'll see.

I'm very excited to see what the new ones look like, but i'll have to wait till 2016 before i plunge into another car.

Yeah I think going for a modern fastback look didn't turn out as unique as they wanted it to although the profile view is not very telling. If you've seen one in person, you know what I mean. The haunches are different from those two cars, and IMO the haunches are the most important part of a RWD beast. BMW gets it. Their sedans since Bangle took over did that very well, despite how widely criticized the other aspects of his flame surfacing theme were. Now Ford gets it but it would have been super schweet if they could have tried a fastback theme on the earlier ones. But that would have cost a shit ton in today's world. So much bureaucratic BS involved in releasing even a slightly different model of car, so much money....

Thanks Rob. Almost burned it to the ground yesterday, oil filler cap popped off (my mistake, I didn't ensure it was secure enough) and well... oil... and extreme heat... they don't get along together in tight spaces or in places that aren't supposed to be on fire.

Have you tried to go to a car wash that has an undercarriage spray?

Going to go grab some simple green and spray the shit out of the area, then go through a wash a couple times with the undercarriage spray.

That should help but there are still a lot of nooks and crannies where the oil is, that an undercarriage spray won't touch.

It'll take a while to get it gone for good, but in the meantime I'm just glad it's still intact.

I know this may not sound like a great idea but I would also recommend taking the plastics from the bottom of your car and run it under the wash.

That way you can maximize the amount of oil to be washed from underneath your vehicle.

I took the plastic trays (under bumper tray and oil service cover tray) off the car already and cleaned them thoroughly. The problem is there's still so much caught up in the chassis and on the K-member, even in the wheel wells, the entire hub and rotor assembly, etc... So all that has been redistributing itself back onto those trays.

Wired up the city lights. (Lights inside the headlight housing) VW didn't think North America needed those so they neglected to add the wires but still put the bulb in. Lol.

Ha yeah BMW took the rear fog light switch out of the car in my old car just for North America. All you need to do is replace the headlight switch and they're fully functional. Americans are too ignorant to know when they are to be used and not.... F'n sad, our system. These people on the roads all distracted, ignorant of right-of-way, ignorant of the rules... in control of a 2 ton+ projectile often traveling at a high rate of speed.... I lose my mind out there just about every day. People amaze me with their stupidity.

I got OEM tail lights from germany that had the rear fog light. I had to get a new switch and run some wires to the computer and do a code change. Sounds hard, but it was simple. The Rear View Camera I got from Germany was a pain in the ass removing the trim to run the cables. Looks awesome though.
