I'm sick of people who don't play COD or haven't for several installments comparing it to Battlefield and saying their is no strategy in COD.

First I never said anything about lack of strategy every game has it's own strategy...Second it was an opinion everyone has one this one is mine.

Oh my bad all you said was "the majority of COD game modes encourage solo play" whereas "BF encourages team play" sounds like a comparison to me and team play suggest strategy. I like how you just quote the last sentence of my post. I was simply disagreeing with your opinion that the majority of COD game modes do not encourage team play. Again simply not true the only game mode that encourages solo play is free for all. I won't even comment on BF encouraging team play because I don't play that game anymore.

Simply not true all the game modes in COD encourage team play. This evidenced by several of our W/L ratios skyrocketing because of playing in groups. Communicating and coordinating. If you ask any of us who play COD we would tell you we hate playing solo with randoms. We would much rather group up and play together. Why? Because we play as a team and we win. If it's not for you fair enough. I have no irrational franchise loyalty either. I'm just stating my opinion on how I see COD is played from the perspective of someone who currently plays it. Which is why I don't bother to talk about my opinion of BF4 as I don't have the game. If your going to express your opinion of a game should you not expect to receive a differing opinion in response? Especially if you don't play the game in question.

I may get Titanfall, and it looks really good, but I really like the modern FPS genre...so I'm not optimistic it would replace Battlefield for me.

Well I agree, but Bungie hasn't had a PC major release since Halo 2. And while next-gen and old PlayStation and Xbox have been confirmed, PC has not. So...idk

From a console perspective it makes me happy just because it's added resources to us. However it does suck for the PC folks.

If it really is going to be a '10 year game', then they'd be foolish not to bring it to PC eventually. But they could leave it a console exclusive for a few years.
