Modern Warfare 3's first DLC will release on Xbox 360 at the end of January, Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling told CoD Elite members today. While the exact nature of the content hasn't been revealed yet, Bowling has hinted that rather than the simple standard maps-'n'-weapons loadout, players can expect variety in areas such as Spec Ops missions as well. Having said that, Bowling tweeted a glimpse at some of the DLC's new material today, and it's a Central Park-esque map simply titled Park.

Because of Microsoft/Activision's first-look deal, the download's January 24 date applies only to Xbox 360 players: PC and PS3 players get to wait another couple of weeks for the DLC. What with the game having monopolized players' time since release – and raked in earnings commensurate with such an achievement – we're sure another short stretch of making do with what's on the disc won't be the end of the world.

Yeah, xbox gets it first, because they've had an exclusivity deal for the last 3 or 4 Call of Duty games. How does that change the fact that PS3 owners still get it for free if they have Elite? Nothing's magically changed.

I knew about the exclusivity deal it's just I remember watching an interview with Robert bowling and he mentioned elite premium users get the dlc first. While watching it someone mentioned on twitter if it's the same across all platforms and he kinda just avoided the question saying that another dept handles the elite. It's just fucked up because he knew and didn't mention anything and didn't want to say xbox got the dlc first because alot of ps3 users got screwed. I play MW3 with kids I know from the schools I work with, I have only played twice with USMG members. I can never meet up with anyone. BF3 I am almost always finding a USMG squad to roll with. I play PS3 MW3 cause the kids have their PS3 clan and I like to play with them talk about parent issues and school problems. It helps many who are on the edge of dropping out.

Join the clan on Elite? If you can't find someone with a USMG tag to play with at that point, then something's wrong, especially with the integration of the clan in the game itself.

As spyder said, you should be able to find members. In the lobby before searching for a game, hit 'Y' on xBox (not sure the equivalent key on PS3), and it will show a list of your friends and what you are doing. Then scroll right all the way and the header will say 'Military Gamers'. It will have a list of everyone who is a member of the clan on Elite and their current status. There, you can join or invite games.

I agree that the stat tracking and networking features are not all they should be, but I didn't really buy Elite for that, and I'm sure most others didn't either. I bought it for the DLC, which I would have bought anyway. They have been releasing 3 map packs/yr @ $15 ea = $45. Black Ops released 4 (total of $60). They are promising more DLC than ever. Now I don't put a lot of stock in their promises either, but if I get 3 map packs worth, I've saved $5 if I bought the Hardened edition (which I did), or spent $5 for the premium features of Elite (if I bought Elite seperately) - easily worth that small amount.

Yes indeed, let's be honest. Average all the different game types, and sure, you play a map for about 10 minutes. What happens after that round is over? Is the map deleted from your hard-drive? Can you never play another round on it again? Or do you play the exact same map a couple rounds later? Or....assuming they'll have it again, since it's been in the last 2 CoD's.....do you go play in the DLC only list. Where you play nothing but DLC maps in different game types.

Dude, seriously, how is this an investment? And how am I justifying it as anything but what it is? Pre-ordered DLC, in-game competitions, and other minor functionality.

As for my precious pre-order, yes....everyone who's payed for Elite got the same damn thing. Because everyone who payed for Elite, payed the same damn price. Whether you pay for it in the first month and get Founder status, or you pay for it and activate it as a christmas present, and therefore don't get Founder status, or buy it next year.....you're paying the same thing. Founder status means you activated your Elite membership in the first month. And gives you an extra title and emblem. That's it. It has no other bearing on this conversation. So what are you smoking....and where can I get some?

Except there are no "high returns". You are paying for a service, knowing full well what that service will entail. In this case, and most likely being the biggest draw, DLC packs that Activision traditionally sells for $15 apiece, generally 3, but in the most recent case 4 within the span of the game. A trend that has been maintained or improved upon for the last 4 iterations of this game. Which means, worst case, when you buy premium you get the map pack DLC for free, and have to pay 5 dollars for the clan leveling, elite-tv...which is actually kind of cool, more video and screenshot space, and personal/clan ops competitions. Best case, you save 10 dollars and get all that other stuff for free. Given that I was skeptical about it before it was released, and the only reason I got Elite was because I won a free subscription, I'm totally sold on it now.

It took them over 6 months to finally iron out their gameplay and deliver on what they promised, and since there are parts that are broken or unbalanced, clearly they still haven't. WoW is a massive ponzi scheme, because their game is STILL broken, and it's 7 years and 3 expansions old. Hell, even SWTOR is a ponzi scheme, according to you, because it's still missing game mechanics that were promised to be in the game....because they haven't been finished yet.

They said it would be fully operational by release....and then had a massive, unexpected, influx of users. They said the main website would be operational by the first....and it is. They dropped the ball on full clan support, but then said that it would be finalized by the end of the year. And then gave everyone a free month to make up for it. As for the rest, again, how can this be an investment scheme, when the main-draw "investment" is a glorified pre-order of the DLC.

Yeah I would say its close to that. As you can tell from reading previous posts that there are pros and cons to it. I think the biggest selling point is the DLC that will come out. Weather available first or not its free if you are a founder or premium.

It's been better or worse, depending on the developer. MW1 and 2 were iffy, WaW was terrible, Black Ops had some issues, but wasn't pathetic...same with this one. It'll be a nice change that usually happens about 2-3 months in to the game's lifespan, so I guess it was about time they took care of this one. Hopefully it'll be better than the others.

I honestly haven't had problems with me spawning in their gunsights. The problem is they spawned and their gunsights were on me! And I'm not talking about with a Tac Insert either. I kill them, run a little ways away, and suddenly there they are again with the drop on me. Not cool.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the spawn issues are due to "Free-for-All" type maps. I think that IW has so much stuff that they fell short on with MW3. I'm not even one for graphics so I'll take those completely out of the equation... for example looking at MW2 titles and emblems screen SHOULD NOT look exactly like MW3. They figured MW2 was huge so let's make 2.5 basically. Don't get me wrong I play the shit out of COD just gets frustrating when I throw down 100+$ towards fluff. *steps down from soap box* As Jump would say... "What the fuck, over"

I hate Outpost. It seemingly takes forever to get somewhere and it always seems like I'm getting sniped by someone half the map away. Fallen is my second least favorite, I don't have any good justification other than it seems like I get my ass handed to me every time I play it :mad:

Yeah welll it's like MW3 is more or less MW 2.4 not even good enough for half haha. But the maps are just so open there's rarely solid places to set up shop or even hold down the fort with some teammates. There's 15 different ways into so many locations it's frustrating... I got 6 nukes in a row on Afghan... map was so good! Wasteland was sick too when people would chill in the bunker lol easily a double kill with RPGs every time

I use it for pen testing at work all the time, if you know what your doing and have some good venerability scanners you can pop windows servers pretty damn quick. OSX desktops through Safari are a push-over as well.

stealth semtex sticks are some of my favorite things to do in this game.... all you need is extreme conditioning.. assassin pro and deal silence...I do it about once each game.... Matter of fact I can't wait to get home and do it again.

2v2 will be structured and ran by the same people as the 1v1 tourney going on at the moment. A4V Fallen i believe is in charge of all tournaments. But it looks promising for the future.

A4V is not in charge of all tournaments. That is the responsibility of our Green Team. A4V has been working with green team member SteelHavok in regards to his controller tourneys.
