Yup, totally watched all the God of War cut scene's on YouTube. First, I would like to say that the series is bad ass and second, is God of War Ascension the prequel to the first three? It seems that way cause in the first one he kill Ares and in Ascension the story goes about Kratos working his way to Ares

Yes it is a prequel. Can't believe no one is playing this. I still have to finish it, but bioshock infinite and tomb raider are taking all of my time from doing so.

for the past couple of days I've been really bored. As I was surfing YouTube, I ran into the first God of War cut scenes. Once I finished that one, I proceeded to the next and the next lol. Great series

God of War marketing pissed me off. I jumped on really late. I never played the PS2 versions and despise jumping into stories anywhere but at the beginning. Then I saw they had a package deal with the games only they weren't in order. Basically I played all the way through one only to find it was like the 2nd in the series. Frustrating. I'll probably just wait till there is a good deal for the PS3 games and just catch up via wiki and videos.

Really wished I'd have been on board since inception. I blame WoW.

yeah, the God of War series can be tricky if you wanted to play in order. This is how you'd need to approach it to play along the proper timeline:

God of War: Ascension - the latest PS3 game

God of War: Chains of Olympus - PSP originally but can be played on PS3 via God of War: Origins Collection

God of War - The original game, one PS2 and playable on PS3 via God of War Collection

God of War: Betrayal - A mobile game, never played it so I have no clue about it or how much story is involved but it could be played with an emulator i suppose

God of War: Ghost of Sparta - second PSP game, also playable on PS3 via God of War: Origins Collection

God of War II - second game on PS2, also included in the PS3 God of War Collection

God of War III - First game of the series on PS3
